LifeVault Privacy Policy
- What you put in LifeVault (items, warranties, documents, spending, photos, notes) is stored only on your phone. We never receive it.
- You don't need an account. LifeVault has no sign-up and no login.
- Bill scanning (text recognition) runs on your phone. Photos are not uploaded.
- LifeVault is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. Google's services in the app collect limited device and usage data for ads, analytics and crash reports, as described below.
- We don't sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
LifeVault is made by Vaimanasoft ("we", "us"), Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. We are responsible for the data described in this policy. Contact: contact@vaimanasoft.com.
2. Information you enter, kept on your phone
LifeVault stores the following in the app's private storage on your device:
- Items: names, brands, prices, stores, purchase dates, warranty periods and notes.
- Documents: names, document types (for example passport, driving licence, vehicle RC, insurance, PUC, visa, subscriptions), any numbers you choose to type, issue and expiry dates.
- Spending: amounts, categories, dates and notes.
- Photos of bills, receipts or documents that you take with the camera or pick with the Android photo picker.
- Settings such as theme, currency and reminder preferences.
This information is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. Other apps can't read it either, because Android keeps each app's private storage separate. It is deleted when you delete the entry in the app, clear the app's storage or uninstall LifeVault.
Camera and bill scanning
LifeVault asks for camera access only when you choose to take a photo. When you scan a bill, Google ML Kit text recognition reads the store, date and amount on your device. The image is not uploaded for this.
Reminders
Reminders before a warranty ends or a document expires are calculated and shown on your phone. LifeVault asks for notification permission so it can show them.
Backups
- Backup files you export: "Export backup" creates a file containing your entries and photos, saved wherever you choose (for example your phone's storage or a cloud drive you pick). We don't receive these files. Keep them somewhere safe, because anyone with the file can import it.
- Android device backup: if Google backup is turned on for your phone, Android may include LifeVault's data in your device backup in your Google account. Google handles this backup under its own privacy policy. You can turn it off in your phone's Settings → Google → Backup.
3. Information collected automatically
LifeVault uses the following Google services. They collect limited technical data automatically. None of them receives the content of your items, documents, spending or photos.
| Service | What it collects | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) and Google's User Messaging Platform | Advertising ID, IP address (used to estimate approximate location), device and app information, ad interactions, consent choices | Showing ads, measuring them, and preventing fraud. Ads may be personalised where the law allows and you have agreed. |
| Firebase Analytics | App interactions (screens viewed, actions such as "item saved", whether a photo was added), app instance ID, device model, OS version, language, approximate location from IP address | Understanding how the app is used so we can improve it |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports and diagnostics (stack traces, device model, OS version, free memory and storage, installation ID) | Finding and fixing crashes |
| Firebase Remote Config | Firebase installation ID, app version, device language and country | Changing app settings, such as how often ads appear, without an app update |
| Firebase Cloud Messaging | A device token and a subscription to our general announcements topic | Sending occasional app announcements to all users |
| Google Play services (in-app updates, in-app review) | Information Google Play needs to offer an update or show the rating prompt | Keeping the app up to date and letting you rate it |
Analytics events never include what you typed, amounts, document numbers or photos. Data sent to these services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).

4. Ads and consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a region where the law requires it (including some US states), LifeVault shows Google's consent form before ads are requested. You can choose whether ads are personalised, and change your choice at any time in LifeVault → Settings → Ad privacy choices. Elsewhere, Google may show personalised ads based on your advertising ID. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads (the wording varies by device).
5. How we use information, and our legal bases
- To provide the app (reminders, scanning, backups): these run on your device.
- To fix crashes and improve the app (Crashlytics, Analytics): our legitimate interest in a reliable, useful app or, where required, your consent.
- To show ads that keep LifeVault free (AdMob): your consent where required, otherwise our legitimate interest.
- To send announcements (Cloud Messaging): with your permission for notifications.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we process personal data for these specified purposes with your consent, which you can withdraw as described in section 8.
6. Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal data. The data described in section 3 is processed by Google as our service provider. For advertising, it is shared with Google and, where you have agreed, with Google's advertising partners. We may disclose information if the law requires it, for example to answer a valid legal request.
7. How long data is kept
- Data on your phone: until you delete it, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app.
- Firebase Analytics: event data is kept for the retention period set in our Firebase project, no longer than 14 months.
- Crashlytics: crash reports are kept for 90 days.
- AdMob: kept by Google as described in Google's privacy policy.
8. Your choices and rights
- Delete any entry in the app, or remove everything by uninstalling LifeVault or clearing its storage in Android Settings → Apps → LifeVault → Storage.
- Turn off notifications, or remove camera access, in Android Settings → Apps → LifeVault.
- Reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's privacy settings. Where the consent form applies, change your ad choices in Settings → Ad privacy choices.
- Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act or India's DPDP Act), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, to nominate someone to exercise your rights, and to complain to a data protection authority. Email contact@vaimanasoft.com and we will reply within 30 days. Because we don't hold your vault data, requests about it are handled on your phone. For analytics or crash data, we'll delete what we can link to your device.
How to delete your LifeVault data
- Data on your phone (items, documents, spending, photos): delete entries in the app, or remove everything at once in Android Settings → Apps → LifeVault → Storage → Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app. This is immediate and permanent. Exported backup files are kept wherever you saved them; delete those files yourself.
- Analytics and crash data collected through Google's services: email contact@vaimanasoft.com with the subject "LifeVault data deletion". We delete the analytics and crash data we can link to your device within 30 days. Otherwise, analytics data is kept for no longer than 14 months and crash reports for 90 days (section 7).
- Advertising data is held by Google: reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's privacy settings, and see Google's privacy controls.
LifeVault has no accounts, so there is no account to delete.
9. Accounts
This version of LifeVault does not offer or require an account. If a future version adds optional sign-in or cloud backup, we will update this policy first. That version will include a way to delete your account and its data, both in the app and on the web.
10. Children
LifeVault is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13, or under 18 in India. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
Your entries stay in LifeVault's private storage, protected by Android's app sandbox and your phone's screen lock and encryption. Data sent to Google's services is encrypted in transit. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please protect your phone with a screen lock and store exported backup files carefully.
12. International transfers
Google may process the data described in section 3 on servers outside your country, including in the United States. Google uses safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. We'll update the effective date above, and for significant changes we will tell you in the app or on the Google Play listing.
